Principal's Corner
Meet the Principal:
Principal India Wilson is a transformational force in Central Ohio, where she serves as Principal of STEM Middle at Baldwin Road Junior High in Reynoldsburg City Schools. Her visionary leadership has resulted in Baldwin becoming the only State of Ohio STEM Designated middle/junior high school in Central Ohio—a historic achievement for the Reynoldsburg City School District.
Mrs. Wilson is a fierce advocate for equity, access, and community empowerment. Principal Wilson lives by the belief that STEM is for everyone—not just the affluent, or students traditionally labeled “math and science kids.” In her own words:
“STEM, in its most authentic form, is sheer problem solving—and who better than children from a wide array of diverse backgrounds, to learn and be competent in real-world problem solving?”
Principal Wilson has worked tirelessly to debunk the myth that STEM is exclusive. She integrates STEM across disciplines and industries—from cosmetology to public utilities, to engineering—demonstrating its relevance in every facet of life. Through intentional hiring practices, she has historically led the most diverse certificated teaching staff in her district, ensuring that students see themselves reflected in their educators.
She has cultivated powerful partnerships with organizations such as The Black Physicians Network, The Ohio State University, Abbott Nutrition, Capital University, and the American Electric Power Company, ensuring her students are mentored and inspired by a variety of diverse professionals in high-profile STEM fields. Through her leadership, career days are transformed into affirming, purpose-driven experiences, where her students are told through word and deed that they belong in every space.
